The New Deluxe picking bag (2019) is fully padded with four filling stages and offers added protection from limbs by a steel cover which eliminates all bruising The bag fully retracts inside the  bottom of the frame - requiring 5 to 6 bags to fill one bin.

Air Compressor 6 cfm

Cast iron piston air pump; two stage with head unloader valve;175 psi max. Quality made, heavy cast iron flywheel, ball bearings on crank shaft ends, slow RPM, stainless steel valves, steel intake filter housing with paper air cleaner element, good quality oil level sighter & spring loaded ball sump breather, This comes with a 6 lt capacity air tank . The compressor V Belt tenshion is easy to adjustment.

Air Compressor 30 cfm

Two stage heavy duty cast iron compressor with head unloading valves is recommended. With this option the engine is upgraded from a 16HP to 21 HP and is fitted with a large capacity air tank and lubricator. The compressor is mounted on a pivoting base for simple, fast V Belt adjustment.

Air Chainsaws

Pistol grip and telescopic extensions. When using air chainsaws, additional oil lubrication is required for the chain. We make a holding rack which holds oil.  Each time the saw is replaced in the rack it receives additional lubrication.

Chain saws & Hedge Trimmer holder made from Solid Nylon .

Hydraulic Outlets in cage

When using hydraulic pruning tools hydraulic outlets are required. Flow is  25-45 lpm, max pressure 1750 PSI.   We fit 3/8"quick disconnect release couplings, bypass valve and relief valve to the cage to protect the hydraulic tool.

Pruning Tray

There are a range of trays that can be bolted onto the front or sides of the Squirrel cage.

One front to hold tools. Both sides have 45º sides and folder over edges  so netting and poles don't get caught.

3 Trays for Erecting Permanent Canopies

One left hand deep tray to hold 1m cable splicing joiners. One right hand to hold 0.5m plastic cable netting clips. One front to hold all other tools. All trays sides have 45º sides and folder over edges  so netting and poles don't get caught.

Vangard 23HP EFI Petrol Engine

23hp EFI 2 cylinder Vanguard engine up-grade. Provides an efficient alternative to 16hp Vanguard. Has electronic fuel injection, high fuel efficient, auto choke and oil cooler.
678 BSD-D & 818 BSD-D already includes this engine.

Kubota D902 23hp diesel engine

The Kubota D902 3 cylinder water cooled diesel engine provides a quiet, very reliable, efficient alternative to petrol for heavy duty applications and has low oil pressure and high water auto shut down, and large diesel filter with hand pump.

This option is not available on 35 8 SQUIRRELS 

Low voltage insulation

Tested and certified to AS1418.10. Includes rubber coated cage, boom and stabilizer bar; insulated hydraulic hoses and cage pivots.  There are multiple points of insulation joints so good insulation is maintained. The Squirrel cage still has safe, fast rear access through a gate - no climbing over the top of the cage. Recommended for street tree pruning near power lines.

Tail lights

Tail lights (LED IP67) are fully protected from prunings. They are required if working on the roadside or towing along roads.

Amber Flashing Light

Amber flashing light  LED IP67 is fully protected from falling prunings.  This option is recommended if working on the roadside or  industrial sites. Some applications may require two flashing lights.

Wide Drive Wheels 15"

31x15.5x15x 8 ply wheels pictures on Left. 26x1200x12 pictured on right (std). The larger wheel provides maximum traction and stability. This option is recommended when working in very soft or steep ground conditions.  When these are fitted the caster wheel is also raised. The outside width of the tyres do not change.

Bogey Drive Wheels

This option provides the best traction and stability. The engine must be upgraded to 23hp.

Hydraulic Drive Wheels Shift

The drive wheels are hydraulically extended and retracted for transport. Wheels are pushed out and held under pressure as the Squirrel is driven along (approx 10 metres). By switching a hydraulic valve, wheels are retracted in the same manner. This function is fast, safe and fool-proof.
