Rubber flaps for Nylon Bristle model SADIE 

In the2001 season we have been extensively testing rubber flaps on the Nylon Bristle model SADIEs.  We have experimented with a variety of rubber thicknesses and holding methods and have achieved a long-wearing alternative to the nylon bristles.

As rubber is a hardwearing medium the flaps are more suitable for sweeping in rough conditions in place of the nylon bristles, providing there are no trickle lines or similar on the ground.  We have found they have not caused damage to vine stems or tree trunks and height setting is not important and achieve a very similar result as the nylon bristles. 

Nylon bristles are still best for using with young vines and trees or where trickle lines or similar are on the ground.

All nylon bristle SADIEs will now include a set of nylon bristles and a rubber flap kit at no extra cost.

 

These rubber flaps come in a kit form consisting of 8 flaps and holders which easily fit any of our existing Nylon Bristle models.
