The Donnybrook Apple Festival 1985

Kevin Gardiner was again elected chairman of the co-ordinating committee but this year the committee was drawn from a much larger section of the community. As well as including one member from Apex, Lions and Rotary, there was a representative from the Donnybrook Football Club, Fruit Growers Association, Shire Council and the Tourist Committee. Vicki Cornford was the Secretary.  Rotary ran the Apple Festival Ball again and put in much work decorating the hall and the marquee as in previous years. The Football Club was in charge of the oval and organising the various types of entertainment as well as running a "Beer Fest" which was to be their main fundraiser. The Lions Club ran the Queen competition and there were nine contestants this year.
